In August of 2019, So Cal Water started the project by adding a point-of-entry water treatment system that would support the gas station only. The system consisted of backwashing filter equipped with granular actived carbon. This would filter the water used for beverages, ice machines, coffee making, and hand washing.
In 2020, the convenience store owner filed a corrective action plan (CAP) to expand the existing water treatment system to provide remediation for the entire service plumbing on the property.
Eventually, the local primary agency also required the store owner to install a separate water treatment system to service the single home as well to compy with the US EPA drinking water standards. The RV dump station and irrigation system were by passed to continue using unfiltered water.
